I was the content strategist and media director for the Canadian DJ Show. Sponsored by industry leader Pioneer DJ, CDJ Show is the countries biggest conference and trade show for professional DJs and executives in the electronic music industry.

Initially, my primary task was to lead a brand refresh. The original branding was already very established and recognized in the industry. With fresh eyes and 10+ years as a professional DJ, I was able to bring a new modern direction to the existing brand and further the impact of the show.

I was then in charge of taking that refresh and applying it to all the existing show assets. I recreated web content, social media assets, press releases, and email marketing. I also had to recreate all printed documents such as exhibitor guides, posters, show guides, and passes.

During the week of the show, my efforts transitioned to media. I was tasked with managing a film crew to document the entire show for social media and promotion for future dates. I co-ordinated and directed interviews with international guests and panelists, product demos with industry-leading brands, capturing keynotes, and other events throughout the day. When the show was done it was my job to edit all of the highlights for social media, youtube, and email campaigns as well as create the official recap video for guests and future prospective guests.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with the CDJ Show. Not only was it awesome to be apart of an iconic Canadian conference, but it also came with a lot of firsts for me professionally. I had the opportunity to further my understanding of print-based design, managing others in a time-sensitive environment, being the frontline contact for distinguished guests, and a better understanding of working with corporate partners.
