The Hudson was The Belfort’s sister nightclub marketed towards the more mature client who is looking for a nightclub experience. When I got hired on at The Belfort I was asked to also help out with their marketing efforts. Originally The Hudson was named Robinson Hall / Thorny Devil – it was a two-story club and each floor was marketed differently. I was asked to rebrand both floors and help out with weekly marketing efforts.

I drew inspiration for the Robinson Hall logo from the giant iconic marquee sign on the rooftop. The neon lettering for Thorny Devil came from the heavy use of red neon used throughout the Thorny Devil bar.

I was then in charge of taking that refresh and applying it to all the existing show assets. I recreated web content, social media assets, press releases, and email marketing. I also had to recreate all printed documents such as exhibitor guides, posters, show guides, and passes.

The owner’s plans for the next evolution of the venue was to turn the main floor into a sports bar/restaurant and have the upstairs remain the nightclub / social club. He decided the best way to communicate this was to rebrand upstairs and release a video advertisement for downstairs. I did the logo rebrand and helped to film, edit, and direct the advertisement.
